Construction Spending upside surprise

While most experts expected a decline, sonstruction spending rose in April by the largest amount since August, the Commerce Department said Monday.
The 0.8% increase followed a revised 0.4% increase in March.
Residential construction gained 0.6%. Non-residential construction increased 0.8%, and was up 2.5% compared with a year earlier.
Public construction fell 0.6%.

Construction spending rose in March for the first time in six months, according to the Commerce Department.
